Terms of Service

Last updated: May 12, 2026

1. Our Practice

Empowered Admissions is a private educational advising practice. We provide college and career readiness services to families, school districts, and community college partners. All services are delivered by experienced advisors who operate under strict confidentiality.

By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you have questions, ask before our first session.

2. Services Provided

Empowered Admissions agrees to provide the services selected by the parent and student at the time of enrollment, as detailed in the service package list noted on your invoice. The scope of our work is defined by that selection. Any services beyond the agreed package must be arranged separately.

3. Advising Relationship

Our work together is a professional relationship grounded in honesty, clarity, and mutual respect. Both parties commit to modeling good communication, transparency, and accountability. Both parties agree to respect each other, the role of admissions officers, and the guidance of high school counseling offices. Both parties agree to follow the Standards of Good Practice set forth by national and regional admission organizations.

We commit to showing up prepared for every session, giving you our honest assessment, protecting your student's privacy and personal information, and communicating clearly and responding promptly.

We ask that you show up on time for scheduled sessions, complete agreed-upon work between sessions, and tell us when something isn't working so we can fix it.

4. Meeting Recording & Notes

All advising meetings are recorded using Gemini, and meeting notes are automatically produced. These recordings and notes serve as an internal record of our work together. They are held under the same confidentiality protections described in Section 8 and are never shared with third parties. If you have questions about this process, ask before our first session.

5. Student Work & Essay Policy

The student must write their own stories and essays. The writing and ability level reflected in all application materials will be that of the student, not the counselor.

The client agrees that any required essays must be submitted to the advisor by the deadline set during your meeting. An additional fee of $75 per hour will be charged if further editing is needed beyond the agreed scope.

Once essays are finalized, we cannot go back and reopen them for changes. We strongly encourage parents and guardians to review all materials during the semi-final editing round. The final content and accuracy of all applications rest with the student and parent or sponsor.

6. Application Responsibility

The signatories of this agreement understand that the student and parent or sponsor are responsible for meeting all deadlines for completing and submitting applications, writing, typing, printing, and proofreading all materials, payment of all application and mailing fees, completing all assigned work by the given deadlines, and making all revisions, including final review of every application, to avoid errors.

The student and parent or sponsor are responsible for the content of the final submitted application.

7. Limitation of Liability

Empowered Admissions does not represent, ensure, warrant, or guarantee that any student will be admitted to or receive financial aid from any college, university, or institution of higher learning.

We have no liability for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies made by students in drafting or submitting their applications. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question.

8. Confidentiality

We hold everything you share with us in strict confidence. This includes student essays, applications, financial information, family circumstances, academic records, meeting recordings, and all materials within our Google Classroom environments.

We will never sell, share, or disclose your information to any third party unless required by law or with your explicit written consent. Our digital systems are accessed only by the advisor assigned to your family.

9. Payment Terms

Full tuition payment is due at the time of enrollment unless a payment plan has been mutually agreed upon. If a payment plan is needed, both parties will determine the amounts and due dates before services begin.

No refunds will be made after the first meeting.

The responsible party may pay via Venmo, Wave, or cash. Payment method must be selected at the time of enrollment.

Any additional fees accrued will be billed at the end of the month and are due within fifteen days of the invoice date.

10. Late Fees & Missed Sessions

The time we reserve for your session is yours. The time between sessions is ours. A late start reduces your session time, not our availability.

Clients must contact Empowered Admissions at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled meeting to cancel or reschedule. Failure to do so will result in a $100 fee. The parent or sponsor will be charged for all fees accrued.

11. Winter Break Closure

The Empowered Admissions office closes for Winter Break from the end of the first week of December through the first week of January. All applications requiring advisor review must be submitted before this closure period begins.

12. Intellectual Property

All materials created for our clients, including session plans, assessments, written recommendations, workbook content, classroom materials, and advising frameworks, remain the intellectual property of Empowered Admissions.

You receive a license to use these materials for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, or claim authorship of our materials beyond your immediate household.

13. Anonymized Work Samples

Empowered Admissions may, from time to time, use samples of student work for internal training, program improvement, or external marketing purposes. Any work used in this way will be fully anonymized. We will never use student names, parent names, identifying personal details, or any information that could reasonably identify a specific family.

If you prefer that no student work from your family be used in any form, even anonymously, you may opt out by notifying us in writing at any time. Opting out does not affect the quality or delivery of services in any way.

14. Google Classroom & Digital Tools

Some services include access to private Google Classroom environments. You agree to keep login credentials private, not share access outside your immediate household, and not download or redistribute classroom materials. We reserve the right to revoke access if these terms are violated.

15. Communication

Our primary parent communication channels are SMS and WhatsApp. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive service-related messages. Every message is tied to your student's advising work. Email is available upon request.

16. Termination

Either party may end the advising relationship. Empowered Admissions may terminate this agreement at any time without reason, with written notice provided. If a package engagement ends, any refund calculation will be governed by the no-refund policy stated in Section 9: no refunds will be made after the first meeting.
